1. Our service
Cusco Punku is a local tour operator based in Peru, which offers a booking, consulting and coordinating service by preparing tailor-made itineraries. We handle bookings and payments on your behalf with a selection of various independent suppliers, such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, train companies, and other means of transportation, private guides and other services, specified in the itinerary; which, even though have been carefully selected and provide high-quality service, they are not under our direct control.
2. Insurance
Cusco Punku, including their representatives, employees and agents will take no responsibility for any cost or losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or guests´ dependents or traveling companions, with regards to but not limited to, any of the eventualities mentioned below. Travelers will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require, for other services not covered by the insurance, travelers will be charged. We also advise travelers to visit their physicians to be up to date with vaccines and address any concerns regarding international traveling.
3. Travel documents
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport (usually, expiring at least six months after the ending date of your trip) and meet all necessary entry requirements (i. e. visa) of the country you are visiting. The requisites vary by country of origin and nationality and can change from time to time. Cusco Punku will do its best to inform you of these general requirements, but we ask that you contact the corresponding embassy/consulate in your country of residence, to confirm which documentation you need.
4. Privacy
Your personal privacy is important for us. When you make a reservation with us, we ask you to provide us with personal information such as your name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number, birth date, destinations to which you would like to travel and travel activities of interest to you. Cusco Punku is required to have your personal information (such as passport details) and we understand the sensitive nature of it and will not share it with third parties (other than as required for booking air, hotel or other reservations as a part of the trip) without your express written permission. By providing your initial deposit, you are allowing Cusco Punku to collect and use your personal information as required for your bookings and purchases along your trip and providing you with the proper services.
5. Health
By sending us your initial deposit you certify you do not have any physical condition that would make traveling unsafe for you or other travelers. It is your responsibility to ensure you have received all appropriate vaccinations and are aware of the risk involved in traveling to high altitudes, the jungle, hot/cold weather, etc.
6. Limitation of liability, release and indemnity
Cusco Punku acts as an intermediary between clients and carefully selected service providers. We purchase hotel accommodations, transportation, restaurants, and other services from various independent suppliers. All such persons and entities are independent contractors independently owned and managed.
By engaging with Cusco Punku and making full payment for the specified services, the client agrees that Cusco Punku cannot be held responsible for delays, damages, accidents, personal injuries, illness, acts of war, strikes or other social situations, overbooking or downgrading of services, mechanical or other failure referring to the means of transportation or any activities or circumstances beyond our control and that any refund will be sought directly from the service provider. Moreover, Cusco Punku it is not liable for any negligent or willful act of any such person or entity or of any third person.
Domestic flights or trains are, occasionally, subject to overbooking, cancellation and schedule changes. If this occurs, we will do everything in our power to assist you in boarding flights or finding alternate arrangements. It must be stressed that this is done as a courtesy to our clients and we cannot be held responsible for denied boarding; neither for the additional costs thus incurred, nor for payments not recovered for missed arrangements due to delays or cancellations.
7. Payment, cancellation and refund policies
PAYMENT
CANCELATIONS
All changes requests received between the date of the service confirmation and until 30 days prior to the date of the service will be considered as a complimentary service, free of charge. For changes requests received within 30 days of the date of the service, Cusco Punku will require a change fee of $50 per person for each adjustment.
Our prices do not include Peruvian Sales Tax (VAT) on hotels which applies to Peruvians and foreign residents. Visitors to Peru, who have stayed longer than 60 calendar days, are no longer exempt from the VAT. In order to be exempt from Peruvian sales tax, you must show appropriate documentation (non-Peruvian Passport with date of entry).

7. Payment, cancellation and refund policies
PAYMENT
- A deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip is required seven (7) days after itinerary is confirmed.
- The remaining amount (50%) is due thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the trip.
CANCELATIONS
- From 60 days prior to the start of the trip, there will be a full refund except for $100 administrative fees.
- Between 30 and 60 days, there will be a 50% refund of the total payment.
- Between 15 and 29 days, there will be a refund of the 20% of the total payment.
- Cancellations within 14 calendar days prior to trip start date cannot be reimbursed.
- If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, cancellation must be made previously.
- There will be no refund made for cancelled or unused services once the trip has started for any reason whatsoever.
